| Mark Mulcahy tribute Aujourd'hui à 20:08Hello, it's been a long time. Sorry for my silence. But now I finally have something to announce, so here I am. September will see the release in the UK and US of Ciao My Shining My Star, an album in honour of American singer-songwriter Mark Mulcahy. Back in 1987 Thom and I became big fans of his band The Miracle Legion. And back in the late 90s, when Unbelievable Truth were touring and Mark was starting out on a solo career, he played support on a couple of UT's UK tours and we became friends. Mark suffered the tragic loss of his wife last year. Ciao has been put together as a tribute to her, a celebration of Mark's wonderful songwriting, and hopefully a way to help him raise his young children while still finding some time to keep making music. I can't take any credit for getting this off the ground, but I pop up in a couple of places on the album: an (old but reworked) live recording of Unbelievable Truth's cover of "Ciao", and singing the harmony on Thom's cover of Miracle Legion's "All For The Best", which you can listen to here: [Vous devez être inscrit et connecté pour voir ce lien]Sounds good, huh? And this is the tracklisting for the full album: 01 Thom Yorke "All for the Best" 02 The National "Ashamed of the Story I Told" 03 Michael Stipe "Everything’s Coming Undone" 04 David Berkeley "Love's the Only Thing That Shuts Me Up" 05 Dinosaur Jr. "The Backyard" 06 Chris Harford and The Band Of Changes "Micon the Icon" 07 Frank Black "Bill Jocko" 08 Vic Chesnutt "Little Man" 09 Unbelievable Truth "Ciao My Shining Star" 10 Butterflies of Love "I Have Patience" 11 Chris Collingwood of Fountains of Wayne "Cookie Jar" 12 Frank Turner "The Quiet One" 13 Rocket From the Tombs "In Pursuit of Your Happiness" 14 Ben Kweller "Wake Up Whispering" 15 Josh Rouse "I Woke Up in the Mayflower" 16 Autumn Defense "Paradise" 17 Hayden "Happy Birthday Yesterday" 18 Juliana Hatfield "We're Not in Charleston Anymore" 19 Mercury Rev "Sailors and Animals" 20 Elvis Perkins "She Watches Over Me" 21 Sean Watkins "A World Away From This One" It's a great record. I really love the Vic Chesnutt song. There'll also be a bunch of other songs available to download, including a marvellous version of "Tempted" by the Pressure Room. They're mates of mine, but I wouldn't recommend this track if I didn't think it was ace. Andy Yorke | |

| Bob Dylan to release Christmas album ?
He has already recorded versions of 'Must Be Santa', 'Here Comes Santa Claus', 'I'll Be Home For Christmas' and 'O Little Town of Bethlehem', states Bullypulpit.com.
Though Dylan is yet to confirm the album himself, he is alleged to have begun work on the Christmas album in May this year, with sessions taking place at Jackson Browne's Groove Master's Studios in Santa Monica, California.

| A week after Radiohead released their first new material since 2007's In Rainbows, tribute to recently deceased British war veteran Harry Patch, it looks increasingly likely that the band are about to release a new EP. Typically, they've not announced it in the normal way, instead leaving a string of clues for seemingly every music fan on the internet to try to decipher. A song called "These Are My Twisted Words" was leaked to fansite atease on Thursday, along with a text file which contained a cryptic poem, a 'release date' of this coming Monday (the 17th), and the phrase Wall Of Ice built from assembled @ symbols. In a recent interview, Thom Yorke suggested the band might never release another LP, but added that shorter collections of songs like EPs were definitely an option. Fans have been theorizing about the clues while the band has remained silent, but a large piece of the jigsaw has now been found to fit in place: the URL wallofice.com leads to Radiohead's official website; specifically, a page to purchase digital downloads. It seems all set up for a new digital release on Monday, probably an EP, called Wall Of Ice. Only a weekend to wait! source: SoundUnwound.com | |

| Bob Dylan is set to release an album of Christmas songs this holiday season.
As first reported on the website BullyPulpit.com, at least four songs have already been recorded for the album including, "Must Be Santa," "Here Comes Santa Claus," "I'll Be Home For Christmas" and "O Little Town of Bethlehem." Billboard has confirmed the existence of the album.
According to the report, sessions have occurred at Jackson Browne's Santa Monica, Calif. recording studio.
Dylan, who was born Robert Zimmerman, will join a music business tradition of Jewish artists who release Christmas-themed albums, including Neil Diamond and Phil Spector. Irving Berlin, who wrote the yuletide classic "White Christmas," was also Jewish. Although he was born Jewish and seems to have returned to the faith, Dylan went through a "born again" Christian phase from 1979-1981, releasing several gospel-style albums including "Slow Train Coming" and "Saved."
Dylan's most recent album, "Together Through Life," was released in April, entered the Billboard 200 at No. 1 and has sold more the 300,000 copies to date according to Nielsen SoundScan.
