In September, Elvis Costello released Live at the El Mocambo, the first installment in a series of archival live albums called The Costello Show. The second album in that series, Live at Hollywood High, is now due January 12, next Tuesday, from Hip-O/UMe.

Live at Hollywood High captures an entire June 1978 Elvis Costello & the Attractions set at the Hollywood High School auditorium.

À en juger par ces propos de Julian Casablancas auprès du Boston Herald, il y a définitivement de l’eau dans le gaz entre les cinq membres des Strokes. Alors que leur retour sur scène dès cet été semble acquis, on peut penser que si quatrième album il y a, il s'agira d'un valeureux chant
du cygne.

On March 5, director Tim Burton's massive 3D reboot of Alice in Wonderland will hit theaters via Disney. Johnny Depp will play the Mad Hatter, Anne Hathaway and Crispin Glover will show up, and high school drama class set designers everywhere will be very, very excited.

On March 2, Buena Vista Records will release Almost Alice, the movie's soundtrack album. Robert Smith will cover "Very Good Advice", one of the songs from Disney's 1951 animated Alice in Wonderland movie, while Franz Ferdinand show up with "The Lobster Quadrille".

The official track list to the soundtrack of Tim Burton’s Johnny Depp-starring Alice in Wonderland just hit the Internets via the same people that dropped the New Moon soundtrack deets: MySpace.
And though there aren’t too many surprises therein (Avril Lavigne’s new
song “Alice (Underground),” Wolfmother’s “Fell Down a Hole,” etc.), one
name jumped out at me…
The Cure’s Robert Smith has contributed a cover of Kathryn
Beaumont’s “Very Good Advice” from Disney’s original animated version
of Alice in Wonderland. Kind of exciting, no?

The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas has said the band are working "night and day" on new material for their fourth album.

Despite being busy promoting his recent solo album 'Phrazes For The Young', Casablancas said he's now thinking about The Strokes' follow up to 2006 album 'First Impressions Of Earth'. He told NYmag.com that the atmosphere in the band is "different than before", with all five members coming together as a group.

"It's night and day now," he said. "Everyone is working as a group, 'Let's do it! Go team!'. Which is amazing. Which is what I wanted since
day one. But that's only happening now. Literally now."

Casablancas, who recently moved back to New York from Los Angeles, added that before now part of the problem with The Strokes was to do with individual members' workloads.

"We split the money six ways," he explained (with manager Ryan Gentles being the sixth recipient), "but we didn’t split the work."

However, Casablancas insisted that band relations are good at present, saying: "If I make it superclear why I
was unhappy in the past, it might just rehash things that should have been left alone. I think we're fulfilling the promise of what we said
we were: actually being a unit that really works on everything."

The Strokes are due to headline the Isle Of Wight festival on June 12, as well as RockNess in Scotland the same weekend.

In the early 90s, Johnny Cash signed to Rick Rubin's American label and began releasing the American Recordings series of albums. Produced by Rubin, the American Recordings were stark, stripped-down, mostly acoustic meditations on the more apocalyptic side of his persona. Cash covered Beck, Nick Cave, Bonnie"Prince" Billy, Soundgarden, Danzig, and, of course, Nine Inch Nails' "Hurt". And he cemented his reputation as one of the reigning badasses in American music history-- not that that rep really needed much help.

Four of these albums came out before Cash's 2003 death. Another, American V: A Hundred Highways, emerged posthumously. And on February 26, American/Lost Highway will release American VI: Ain't No Grave, the final volume in the series. February 26 would have been Cash's 78th birthday.
